About
Welcome to the portfolio of Rose Baxter, also known as Cactis. Rose is a 19 year old graphic artist, who has been doing art for nearly 10 years. She started out drawing fan art for the Warrior's© series by Erin Hunter, and has since evolved to study and attempt to replicate a wide range of different media. From furries to anime to cartoons, Rose attempts to conquer it all with gusto and confidence. She is most comfortable working with digital art, using and learning photoshop from the age of 10, and wet media illustration (markers/watercolor/gouache).
At the age of 15, Rose was diagnosed with an unnamed learning disability, and after living up to that point with constant self doubt and fears of her own inability, she found strength in her diagnosis, and used it to remind herself that she isn't broken, or stupid, just a little different. When she was 18, she was finally able to put a name to the face, and was given the formal diagnosis of Dyscalculia as well as Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS). Rose is now using these as themes for her first official "series" of works, illustrating the daily struggles of those who suffer with these kinds of invisible disabilities.
